Not The
Spherical Spaceship

 It was of course not the spherical spaceship as seen in the movie (2), but only the rainbow over the Lake Inawashiro (1) in Fukushima, Japan. It was also not the day Japan stood still, but it was a day of the two-day trip to Aizu area in Fukushima for sightseeing from Tokyo with my old graduates in the same class of university. This picture was taken on August 6 from the big swan-shaped boat on the lake, looking towards the east. It is ironical that the Fukushima-daiichi nuclear power plant is really over the rainbow, about 80 km away. It will take a long time for Japan to recover losses and to solve problems. We all Japanese, thank you for the various supports from all over the world.

After leaving the boat, the double rainbow was seen, which may be hard to make out in the picture below.
